Welcome to your April Update for the 2024 EGU General Assembly, to be held 14–19 April 2024, both on-site in Vienna, Austria, and virtually. This will be the last email update before the General Assembly, so let's jump right in!

So, what do you need to do in April, before the meeting?

For conveners

  • In order to collect your name badge, please bring your QR code (available when logged in through the EGU24 app or on your registration page). Avoid the queues by collecting your badge on Sunday, 14 April 2024, between 12:00 CEST and 18:00 CEST, in the name badge pick up area in hall X5 of the Austria Centre Vienna. If you have already received your name badge by mail (participants from most European countries could choose to receive their name badge by mail prior to the conference if payment was received by 18 March 2024), you can enter the conference centre through the main entrance. The name badge also gives you the most use of your free transport ticket for Monday-Friday.
  • Regular price registration and single day on-site tickets for EGU24 are available until the end of the conference (19 April 2024), but must be completed online. Registrations will not be purchasable on-site in Vienna, only badge collection. View all the registration fees and options on the EGU24 website and get your registration TODAY.
  • Prepare for your session! Ensure you have delegated both an on-site and a virtual chairperson, and prepared your tasks for the session. Check the convener guidelines, chairperson guidelines and Gather.Town guidelines for more information.
  • To access your session, no links will be sent in advance to presenters, for either Zoom or Gather.Town, all links will become available 15 minutes prior to the session on the session page. Alternatively if you are already logged in to Gather.Town, you can navigate to the correct poster location beforehand.
  • You can contact your authors using the Mailing Tool to make sure their presentation is displayed with the right status (on-site or virtual), and for any additional information you wish to convey.
  • To help you prepare, watch the video in this playlist of what to expect for conveners at EGU24.
